Time is running out….Excitement mounting
Less than two weeks until the race start and there are still many time slots at the time stations that still need to be filled. We especially would like to see a turn out by those living in Oxford and Blanchester as well as last year's time station workers. It will be the best show in town. Work for four hours and earn a free Ohio RAAM T shirt.  Volunteer information and sign-up forms here.

This year's race is shaping up to be the most competitive ever. Jure Robic (Slovenia) will have a lot of pressure to keep the pace high if he wants to win a fifth RAAM. He has many valid challengers to his throne. See Perry Stone's recent article in the "Daily Peleton" on the race situation Jure faces before the race even gets underway. Full story here.

The Ohio time stations are noted as a final rest stop for racers before they make their final push over the Appalachian Mountains and into Annapolis. So don't miss the action at our time stations, drop by and see for yourself.

For those out of town or overseas
Over the weekend of June 1, the town of Wilmington which is just north of the Blanchester time station had two tornadoes touch down. Luckily the damage was slight. See recently added WCPO "Tornado Alley" website link. This link will be very useful to crews and racers during RAAM as the Ohio Valley is very active with storms during June.

Crew, racers and RAAM media discounts
Crews, racers, RAAM media, don't forget to take advantage of our sponsor discounts once the race is underway.

Oxford Time Station – Baymont Innmention RAAM and get a discount on your room(s), also available for out of town guests visiting the time station. Free McDonald's Value meals will be given out at the time station as well as other give items from our sponsors. Kroger will supply bottled water. There will be a limited number of "goodie bags" provided by The City of Oxford with local information. The Trek Bicycle Store has provided water bottles for visitors.

Blanchester Time Station Free bottled water from Kroger & McDonald's, also free apple slices from McDonald's. McDonald's will also raffle off a Dr Pepper bike to the local community.
Items given at time stations will only be given away as long as supplies last.

Ohio RAAM T shirts will be available for a mere $5 at both time stations, see our website for a picture. Volunteers putting in 4 hours or more will also get one free, as long as supplies last.

How can I see the Racers?
The time stations are the best locations. A lot of activity happens there. However, you can view them anywhere along the route. Check it here.
Check the www.ohioraam.org web site regularly.
You will see links to information about standings, arrivals at the time stations in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio and projected arrivals for Oxford and Blanchester. The projections are mathematical calculations and subject to change as the race progresses. They become meaningful to Ohio once a racer has crossed the Mississippi river.
Crews, RAAM media and officials can arrive at any time. Remember, your favorite may be coming through at 3:00am. Set your alarm. A cheering fan in the middle of the night can put fire in a racer for another 50 miles.
During the race, the staff will be using www.twitter.com/ohioraam for frequent updates which is also displayed on the web site.
Solo women leave one day early and teams leave 3 days after the solo males. Consequently, they all are passing each other in our section of the course. Exhaustion begins taking it's toll in these sections, which makes our locations ideal for viewing the "ultra" in ultra-cycling.
