What do I bring to
a Time Station? |
|
Volunteering to staff a time station is exciting
and fun. You will have many riders crews and officials visit
the station,. It is also possible you will have periods when
nothing is happening. Here is a list of items that will make
your time more fun. |
- An attitude of expectation and excitement.
You are going to see some of the toughest atheletes in the world.
- A friend. You can get caught up on old times
during quiet periods and recruit a new enthusiast for RAAM.
- A folding chair. There will be a canopy,
table and electric service at each station.
- Sun screen for the day and insect repellent
for the night.
- Your camera. See how to submit photos for our Photo and Video
contest.
- Mobile Phone
- Laptop computer. Use this site to estimate
the arrival of the next rider. Check the services tab of each
time station page for connection availability.
- Pen and paper for note keeping.
- Radio
- Snacks to share with workers and crews.
- There are 24 hour food services at both Oxford
TS-41 and Blanchester TS-42, but
- An ice chest with cold drinks
- A thermos for a warm drink at night.
- Night staff bring a warm jacket and long
pants. It can get cold in June.
- Rain gear
- Time to get acquainted with local services
nearby and have information for riders and crews. There is a
services page under each Time Stations page on the web site.
